Casio Protrek

Casio Protrek watches put so many high-tech functions into one small package that they can be called the Swiss army knives of the watch world. With one of these on your wrist, you have a barometer, thermometer, compass, and altimeter. It keeps time, too, accurate to 15 seconds per month.

The compass feature of Casio Protrek watches has a measuring range of 0 to 359 degrees, can measure and display direction as one of 16 points, can be calibrated bidirectionally, and can even detect abnormal magnetic fields. The thermometer’s range is from 14 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit, measured in 2/10ths of a degree. It can also change between Fahrenheit and Celsius standards.

Casio Protrek watches also feature a barometer that can display atmospheric pressure tendencies as a graph and switch between hPa and inHg measurements. For those whose trekking takes them up mountainsides, the altimeter is an indispensable function. It measures from -700 to 10,000 meters in five-meter increments, has auto memory for up to 40 sets of data, each including altitude, date, and time, and can change between meters and feet. It not only has a cumulative ascent function but can also display relative altitude from a particular point.

Casio Protrek Watches Feature “Tough Solar” Technology

The solar-powered battery in a Protrek watch will last up to five months on a single charge. If it is left in the dark for an extended period, it goes into a sleep mode, which allows the battery to last for almost two years. When it is exposed to light again, the battery recharges and full use is resumed. Please read our Casio Pro Trek Review for more details.
